Hello! I’m Eric, an American multidisciplinary designer and artist currently based in Berlin. Over the past 20 years I’ve worked as a digital product designer, graphic designer, web designer, and illustrator. I aim to create work that’s thoughtful, culturally aware, and ultimately life-enhancing.
Since 2015, I’ve been a Principal Designer at Ableton, where I help lead the design of creative tools for music makers. My role spans design leadership for instruments and effects as well as hands-on interface design for features in Ableton Live.
From 2008 to 2015, I worked as Art Director at Gnomon, a leading visual effects school in Los Angeles. I was responsible for the organization’s design direction, overseeing the in-house design team and shaping its visual identity across digital and print.
In addition, I taught Gnomon’s Graphic Design and Career Realities courses, where I developed a design curriculum tailored to artists in the entertainment industry.
Outside of work, I maintain an active personal art and design practice that includes experimental media, music making, and lots of reading.
This website includes a selection of my personal and professional work, going back to 1998. It was built by hand because I believe it’s important to create our own independent spaces on the internet.
